Question
1. How do I get on the Internet, what do I need?
Answer. We can arrange for you to get on-line via an Internet Services
Provider (ISP). An ISP will provide you with all the necessary software
that you will require to configure you computer for Internet use, which is
usually just a CD ROM or floppy disk. Aside from this, you need a PC of
reasonable specification, a telephone line and a modem. We strongly
recommend you buy the FASTEST SPEED modem that you can afford - typically,
a modem that functions at 56 kilobytes per second (KBPS) should be
sufficient for the needs of most, although if you are a small business, we
would suggest you use an ISDN connection which may be more cost effective.

Question
3. How much will it cost to connect to and surf the Web?
Answer. Most ISPs these days charge you nothing to actually set up a connection
to the internet.
There is however usually a standard monthly fee to your ISP of around
$12.95
- $29.95 depending on the complexity of the web site.

Question
4. What kind of computer specifications do I need to get on the Internet?
Answer. This will depend on your needs, and of course, whether you intend on
using the internet for personal or business use. We can advise you what
system would be most appropriate for you, whether you want low cost
minimum specification, or 'top of the line', 'state of the art' systems
for use in your office. Visit the basics of
buying a computer page.

Question
5. Do I need to get anything before work on my web site can begin?
Answer. You will need to establish yourself an internet connection and obtain
some web space but we can take care of all of this for you. We can also
arrange for your domain name to be registered and hosted on a fast and
reliable commercial server. You can choose FREE server space that will
demand to advertise on each of your pages, or you pay a small monthly fee for
servver space and have no advertisements but your own.

Question
6. Is location a problem, are my offices too far away from your offices,
Answer. Don't worry at all. Your location does not matter. If necessary, we can
conduct our entire business with you via email, telephone or even fax
correspondence! We will regularly keep in touch, as work on your web
site progresses, we can upload it to a location on our server called a
"Beta site"
known only to you. That way, you can keep an eye on how well work is
progressing and advise us accordingly or any additions to your site that
you may have in mind.

Question
7. How much will it cost for you to design my web site?

its content. As a guide, Son Bear Charges $80-$120 per web page that we design

Question
8. How long will it take for you to design my site?
Answer. This will depend purely on the type of site you have in mind. Simple
information sites with limited graphic content and perhaps up to 10 pages
in content will take between 2 and 3 weeks to complete from start to
finish. More complicated sites or e-commerce enabled sites could take up
to 6 weeks to perfect. We keep the client involved every step of the way
asking for feedback and suggestions that can be incorporated into the site
design.

Question
9. What kind of information should we include in our web site?
Answer. Again, this will depend on what type of site you have in mind. People
market and promote information in different ways, but any good web site
will contain clear advice on who you are, where you are, what you do, how
you can be contacted and the cost of your services.
The key to marketing on the web is to ensure the information you are
providing is easy to understand and easily accessible. Graphical content
should be carefully integrated into a site so not to hamper download time
and navigation should be simple.

Question
10. How will my site be maintained and updated once it has been completed?
Answer. You can maintain the site any way you want too, and there are
several choices on how you may want to do that. Visit the advertising
and management packages page to evaluate our management
packages. Son Bear can train
you to manage your site or we can maintain your site for you and make any necessary updates and
amendments subject to our Web Site Contract Agreement which we will ask
you to sign on completion of your site. We ask you to sign this mutual agreement purely in the interest of
protecting both our intellectual property rights and yours. Once your site
is completed, it will be 'owned' by you, or rather, the client for which
we have designed the site. However, as authors/creators of the site, we
have copyright ownership rights regarding the HTML coding that we use to
construct each web site.
This means that by US and International Copyright Law, no modifications
may be applied to any site that we create without our written permission
being gained first. Alterations to the raw HTML code used to construct any
site we build will be an infringement upon our copyright. We also want to
protect and prevent the possibility of people stealing our ideas and
graphic designs from any web
sites we build. This sort of thing would be infringing upon both our
copyright and that of our client too; something we obviously want to
avoid! We will of course be more than happy to make minor alterations to
your site, such as several additional sentences and a couple of image
changes free of charge, providing we can be advised of such amendments via
email, telephone, fax or "snail mail" communication. Major alterations
such as additional custom designed graphics or additional pages will be
charged at our current rates.
